Author Guidelines

Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis Studia Naturae publishes original scientific articles in English. Submission of the article implies that it has not been published previously, that it is not under consideration for publication in other journal.

Submitting your paper:

1. Author(s) submit version of article for the publisher with data of author(s) and scientific units.

2. The article is preliminary reviewed by the scientific editor, to verify whether it falls within the subject of the journal and it is prepared respectively with the editorial standards of the journal.

3. The article is reviewed by two reviewers from outside the authors’ institutions keeping the principle of mutual anonymity – the so-called "double-blind review process".

4. The review is sent in a written format.

5. The editor forwards reviewer’s remarks to the author.

6. The author(s) send(s) the corrected article and a response to the reviewers and editor’s comments.

7. Author(s) should attach the authors agreement on publication.

The Editors reserve the right to make minor corrections and to suggest changes and substantive supplementations.

The editorial requirements for the text:

The main text length of the article is 10–20 standard pages (with graphics, tables, etc.), i.e. 18000–36000 characters with spaces. It should be written by the normal font type: Times New Roman, font size: 12 points, line spacing: 1.5 lines, paragraph: 1.25 cm, in Word.DOC or .RTF format; for margins of A4 page: upper 2 cm, lower 2 cm, left 3.5 cm, right 1.5 cm, no word hyphenation, no automatic highlights or listings. Please, do not use marking in the text.

Abstract text length is 1200–1800 characters with spaces. It should be written by the normal font type: Times New Roman, font size: 10 points, line spacing: 1.5 lines. Key words should be included 3–6 words useful when indexing and searching, not appearing in the title of the article.

References should be written by the normal font type: Times New Roman, font size: 10 points, line spacing: 1.5 lines (including DOI or URL of bibliographic entries).

Biographical note about the Author(s) is 300–1000 characters with an ORCID identifier. It should be written in English and by the normal font type: Times New Roman, font size: 10 points, line spacing: 1.5 lines.

Tables should be prepared on separate pages, numbered in Arabic numerals (Tab. 1, Tab. 2, etc.). The text in the tables should be written by the normal font type: Times New Roman, font size: 10 points, line spacing: 1 lines; large tables should be placed in the form of attachments at the end of the article (see archival issues).

Figures (diagrams and photographs) should be prepared on separate pages, numbered in Arabic numerals and done in Excel (Fig. 1, Fig. 2, etc.). Photographs or figures should be saved as .JPG or .TIFF formats with a resolution of 300 dpi. Numbering of tables and figures should be corresponded to the order of their citation in the text. Descriptions of figures and tables should be consistent with their content.

The following paper setting is binding:

1. Name and last name of author(s).

2. Affiliations of all author(s) (department or faculty, institute, university, address, country); e-mail of corresponding author.

3. Title of the paper.

4. The main text of the research paper should include: Introduction with the aim and research hypothesis; Material and methods; Results; Discussion; Conclusions (or summary); Acknowledgement and References; Abstract (English and Polish versions); Information on the author(s).

5. References.

6. Abstract of paper from 1200–1800 characters with spaces and Key words – max 6 words (English and Polish version).

7. Information on the author(s)

The list of references should be presented in the alphabetical order in the following way: author(s) surname, initials of first names; year of publishing if there is more than one paper of the same author published in a given year, after the year it is necessary to mark particular items a, b, c, etc.; title of the paper; full name of the journal’s title, No of volume or issue, numbers of pages, DOI (articles) or bibliographical abbreviation of the publishing house and place of publishing, numbers of pages (books). DOI number for all references is required (if exist).

Literature references in text: when referring to the publications of other authors in the text of the paper, a surname and a year should be provided in brackets (Towpasz et al., 2001; Lichtenthaler, 2007; Kopcewicz, Lewak, 2008; Możdżeń, Barabasz-Krasny, 2018a, 2018b) or …according to Kowalski (2000)... All literature data mentioned in the text must be given in the list of references (and vice versa). Other examples of references: (BirdLife International ..., 2016).
